Welcome to QR Hero. This guide walks you through the essentials: signing up, creating your first code, and understanding how dynamic QR codes differ from static ones.

Create your account

  1. Open Register and enter your name, email, and password.
  2. Choose a plan that matches your expected scan volume and feature needs.
  3. Complete organisation profile details when prompted — billing address and VAT ID unlock correct tax handling on invoices.

After registration you land on the Codes dashboard for your active organisation.

Your first QR code

  1. Click Create code and pick a product type. Most teams start with Dynamic link (a re-pointable URL short link).
  2. Give the code a memorable slug and destination URL.
  3. Customise the QR design in the preview panel — colours, logo, margin, and output size.
  4. Save the code. QR Hero queues a render job and writes the redirect cache entry automatically.

Your public short link looks like https://qr.qrhero.link/your-org/slug unless you attach a custom domain.

Dynamic vs static

A dynamic QR code keeps the printed image unchanged while you edit the destination, routing rules, schedule, or analytics tags in the dashboard. That is the core value of QR Hero: print once, iterate forever.

What to configure next

  • Brand — logo, colours, and landing-page styling applied to prelanders and link pages.
  • Domain — replace the shared qr.qrhero.link host with your own subdomain when your plan includes custom domains.
  • Analytics — open the analytics view after your first scans to see countries, devices, and unique visitors.

Tips for production rollouts

  • Test the live redirect with a real phone scan before printing at scale.
  • Keep a fallback destination configured so expired schedules or paused codes show a friendly message instead of a blank error.
  • Use Tracking groups when you need campaign-level rollups across many codes.
