Wi-Fi QR codes

Let guests join your network without typing SSID and password.

Related in the dashboard: wifi.create, wifi.edit

Wi-Fi codes encode WIFI: credentials so phones offer a one-tap Join network prompt.

When to use Wi-Fi codes

  • Guest networks in offices, cafés, and hotels
  • Event venues with rotating passwords — update the code instead of reprinting signage
  • Retail stores separating staff and guest SSIDs

Create a Wi-Fi code

  1. Choose Create codeWi-Fi.
  2. Enter SSID, password, and encryption type (WPA/WPA2 recommended).
  3. Mark whether the network is hidden.
  4. Style the QR and save.

Security considerations

  • Anyone who can scan the code can read the password — place signage where only intended guests can see it.
  • Rotate passwords on a schedule and update the code in the dashboard; printed QR images remain valid.
  • For highly sensitive networks, use a guest VLAN instead of publishing production credentials.

Compatibility

Modern iOS and Android versions recognise standard Wi-Fi QR payloads. Very old devices may still require manual entry.
